Um I dunno

This is my self-portrait as a photographer! Let's see...what's my story? As a photographer I am a complete amateur. Any photo that I do well was a happy accident. I have an appreciation for photography but it's just one of those things where I'm one of the fans in the bleachers instead playing. This was my best shot at being creative. I hope you like it :)

Retouch photo

BEFORE

AFTER
In this project  I learned how to use a lot of tools. Before this project  I had never used the magic wand! I''m more familiar with the stamp tool and clone tool as a result of this project.  I spent most of my time editing the wrinkles out of the background. The great thing about choosing Bre as my partner is that  I didn't have to edit much on her face :) This project was a struggle for me. I got so frustrated with changing the background but it's finally complete. I hope you can see atleast one difference.

Miss Hockney

This is my David Hockney style photo. I shot my little sister because she is very lively and hyper. I thought she would be fun to shoot. I'm interested in sharing my subject because I've never posted a picture of my sister on my blog. So this is her photo debut!

What it means to be a Jag

I go to an extremely diverse school. I am surrounded by unique cultures everyday. Everyday is a cool opportunity for me to learn about someone new. This is my word photo. When I look at it, it makes me feel I actually know what I'm doing photoshop.

I spy a jaguar

This is my texture photo. I took a picture of a rough board in Ms. Gilmore's room. It's a cool texture but  I don't like the affect it has on the photo. It seems like the more I add the less  I can see the people in my photo. I love that the original jaguar is still in view. Tell me what you think.

Grrr power

This is my combined jag photo. This was really challenging because I had to be creative. I just copied my rave jag photo a couple of times and placed them where I thought it looked cool. Hope you guys like it.

Jags are the life of the party

This is my second jag photo. It's very different from my first because the jaguar is the center of attention. Also I went further than my usual crop, tone, caption, save habit. I really like it because I feel like he's at a rave. He is menacing yet he knows how to party. It makes me think of the Ricky Bobby movie. "I like to picture my jesus in a tuxedo t-shirt because it says I want to be formal, but I'm here to party."

The real King of the jungle

While at lunch Alka was play fighting with her friends. When I say play fighting I mean roaring like a dinosaur and making claws out of her hands. It reminded me of the Jaguar assignment. The three agreed to pose for me and they got pretty into it. I love the picture because the look in their eyes says they are one with the jaguar.

Hey guys you should check out this photo by one of my classmates Chen-Ching. It's intense but soft, I learn something new from all his photos.

I took this photo of my neighbor while me and my family were making a snowman. With excess snow being a rarity in Texas everyone was trying to enjoy the weather. My neighbors are sports fanatics so I took this picture right before they were about to start an intense hockey game.

Interior chills!

Senior Alexis Smith bundles up in Economics class. It's so cold she has two jackets on and a blanket. It was a challenge to take the picture without the other students looking at the camera. To edit this picture I cropped and toned it. What do you think of this photo?

Summit Jags in action

Last week I got a front row view in Powerlifting practice. I got to witness some heavy lifting by our jags, a typical day in the weight room. Senior Terrance Newsom pushes it to the limit while being spotted by a fellow team member. I love his face in this photo. You can tell he gave 110%.
